Oh what I wouldn't have done for that last year! its sold - some lucky buyer got it. We're down to just one cow this year , DH & I milk together - one each side - and only once a day so it doesn't take long. The calf does the other milking for us.

Gee whiz, what a buy!!

I thought I'd try hand milking but after practicing on a bottle and teat have come to the conclusion I was at... the hands just aren't good enough.

Luckily we still have our single portable machine when we're ready to go.

Murphy's Law Strikes Again!

I had to give up hand milking awhile ago, which is why I put the foster calf on our Jersey. I have been searching ebay for months looking for a milker to come up, so we could get milk again.

The day AFTER I buy one somewhere else, this one on ebay appears!

Its okay, I just knew that it would happen like this. I'm really happy with the one I bought, and mine is a lot newer and portable, a deLavaal ... but still...!!!
